Community

At the very core of the Longmire Foundation is a dedication to community support. Our local community, and the larger idea of what a community is at its heart. Our annual goal is always to support community. For 2023 we supported the St. Francis Animal Shelter in Buffalo, WY, Folds of Honor, and a scholarship. These donations were made on behalf of all participants of Longmire Days 2023. The Longmire Foundation would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Longmire fans for making these donations possible. We appreciate your support of the Foundation's mission of community involvement and support. In 2024, The Longmire Foundation plans to support the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Buffalo Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa.

Gary Sinise Foundation

At the Gary Sinise Foundation, they serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. They do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. Through the R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program, they build 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes for our most severely wounded heroes. They also provide home modifications, mobility devices, and adapted vehicles to our injured, wounded, ill, and aging heroes. The Relief & Resiliency program aims to ensure our defenders and their families stay strong through hardships by offering complete support in times of need. These programmatic initiatives help our nation’s heroes and their families find the strength to persevere and heal. The Community Outreach & Education program bridges the gap between our defender and civilian communities. Through these programmatic initiatives, they honor America’s heroes both past and present and inspire the next generation to do the same. The First Responders Outreach program provides funding for essential equipment, PPE, emergency relief, and training to ensure our first responders are able to perform to the best of their abilities. They also help those severely wounded in the line of duty by building 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes and providing home modifications, mobility devices, and adapted vehicles. Their mission is wide-sweeping and awe-inspiring. Learn more here.

Operation Blue Santa

From the mission statement of the Buffalo Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa program: At the Buffalo Police Department, we are dedicated to fostering a sense of community and support for those in need. For 13 years running, we have proudly continued Operation Blue Santa, a program designed to illuminate the holiday season for families facing adversity in our community. Through Operation Blue Santa, we identify families who could benefit from additional support during the holidays and work diligently to address their needs. Our mission is to provide these families with the resources and assistance necessary to navigate their challenges and regain stability in their lives. With a focus on families who have fallen through the gaps of local support services, we strive to offer financial support and essential resources to empower them to provide for themselves. Our commitment extends beyond monetary aid, encompassing a range of support services including gifts for children, assistance with rent, groceries, and essential expenses. Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our community members and business partners, we have been able to make a significant impact year after year. Together, we have raised substantial funds and provided crucial support to numerous families, ensuring they experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season. While Operation Blue Santa remains our primary focus, we are also excited to share our long-term vision of creating a scholarship fund. By establishing a scholarship fund, we hope to extend our support beyond the holiday season and provide opportunities for students from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue higher education. This is an ambitious goal, but with your continued support, we are confident that we can make it a reality.
